MEET THE TEAM

Together, our board has experience, insight and connections in Healthcare, Social Services, the Police, Education and the Voluntary Sector. We have gathered a team which is handpicked and strategically designed to offer the greatest support to children and young people in our area. They know the field, are skilfully trained and have the hearts and motivation to put in the work to make a lasting impact.

Together with our other volunteers, our 'boots on the ground', we are able to help children in our area in really practical, holistic ways, from packing bags to hosting events, that we might see every child thrive.

OUR TEAM

  • HEULWEN DAVIES

The founder and vision carrier for Heirs, Heulwen is passionate about seeing every child in Wales thrive. This charity was born out of an awareness in the first national lockdown of the children who were suffering, and having just given birth to her second son, the thought of any child suffering was too much to ignore.

A passionate and established public communicator, Heulwen uses her influence and platform to raise awareness and rally support for the most vulnerable in our society.

  • JOSH DAVIES

As Heulwen's husband, Josh was bound to be involved! He carried it with her, processed, chatted and planned alongside his wife, but beyond being a support alone, Josh has a real heart for these children too. As a trainee Doctor he has a privileged insight into people's lives and sees the need for further support and as a Dad he can't help but have a heart for children who don’t have all he is able to give to his own.

  • MEGAN JONES

Megan has been volunteering for Heirs since its conception. She herself has not always had it easy and so she knows firsthand that through the support and love of her local church and Youth, it made all the difference. Through working with Heirs, she is passionate about doing the same for so many others.

Megan is our new Project Cooridnator, in charge of all logistical and creative outputs of Heirs.

  • EMMA CURRY POUND

Emma is the Assistant Head Teacher in her secondary school, who leads on Pastoral Care, well-being and behavioural management. She is passionate about helping young people and works towards that both in and out of working hours; as such she has volunteered for years at her local church’s youth club and now she is thrilled to be on the Heirs board, working to help the most vulnerable children and young people.

  • DETECTIVE CONSTABLE

A local Detective is also and a part of our board. He is our main connection with the Police and is a huge gift to us! He is passionate about helping these young people who occupy so much of his time. With a harrowing insight into the crime in our area, from drug running (county lines) to sexual abuse to antisocial behaviour, he is determined to do all he can to help deter young people from crime and help them instead find healing and thrive.
